The Moby Olson Fund In Memory of a Gentle Giant
ART believes the best way to honor Moby's life is to help other senior dogs in need. The proceeds of the Moby Olson Fund will help compensate for the necessary medicals costs that can be very high for elderly dogs.
Here are our current senior dogs that will benefit from the Fund: Please click below to help aid our Seniors. Thank you. Moby's Story: Moby's fostermom, Sheri Olson, and Maggie Dahl, ART's President, helped Moby to the Rainbow Bridge Friday, August 31, 2007. Severe, painful arthritis and kidney disease were taking their toll. To release him from pain and preserve his dignity, we made the difficult decision to help him on his way. This sweet 12 year old Clumber Spaniel/St. Bernard mix was found shuffling down the street close to downtown Dallas at the beginning of April. We knew he was at least 12 years old from his tags and you could tell he'd lived a pretty hard life for most of those years. He lived his last days in pure joy and happiness at the home of Bob and Sheri Olson. Originally named Mr. Wiggles, he renamed himself intently watching Moby Dick one evening with his fostermom. While we called him their "foster", Moby was an Olson through and through the minute he walked through their door. What a charming character he was, living large was his style --Moby knew what he wanted do to, when he wanted to do it, and even at his advanced age, it was very hard to move the old guy in a direction he didn't want to go.
Thanks to Janet Healey for saving this boy's life, for Chris Watts and the partners at The Petropolitan for his spa day and first night in the lap of luxury, Sandie D'Orazio for giving him a warm place to bunk for his first few weeks, and to Bob and Sheri for loving him just for being Moby. He left this world with love in his heart. Godspeed Moby. You will be missed.
