Izzy is a sweet little Dachshund mix. We think she probably has a bit of a spaniel as well - as you can see from her cute ears. She has a gorgeous soft black coat that has brown highlights visible in the sun. She does not seem to have been a pet before, but she is learning really fast! She is pretty much housebroken and getting used to the crate. She LOVES attention and follows her foster mom everywhere. A perfect little cuddle bug, she does enjoy rolling and running around in the yard and playing with the other dogs in the house. We have not seen her around a cat yet, but she does well with kids. She is a kid herself still so best with older kids (not toddlers as she could be a bit too playful for their liking). She does need some play buddies so a home with kids, other dogs or parents that will cater to her every desire will be perfect!! :)
Izzy does not quite know a harness or leash yet- we just enjoyed (sort of) our first big adventure to a pet store with a harness and leash. She is still unsure of unfamiliar surroundings and people but all-in-all a great first attempt. More socialization is sure to give this little darling the extra boost in confidence she needs.
Izzy is current on all her shots, but yet to be spayed. She will be available for adoption after that. However, you are welcome to put in an application now if you feel this little bundle of joy will be a perfect fit for your family for the rest of her life. We hope she never has to experience a shelter again as we do for all our babies.
