This little champion is only four months old and has already endured probably the rarest skin disease to ever be seen at Preston Forest Village Animal Clinic. However, Champ powered through and only has a faint memory of his hair loss. He was found on the side of a road in Keller, Texas and almost euthanized. Since his skin disease, he has put on more pounds and eats more food than any other dog I have fostered. He has mastered the art of jumping off of the couch, only to tumble and resurface with an “I meant to do that” expression. He cocks his head when you are speaking and has already learned to sit. We are working on potty training, but when he gets the chance, he does go outside and absolutely loves to run. Leash trained and no longer scared of stairs, Champ would make the perfect addition for a home with children and/or cats. He is extremely independent, is vocal when he needs something and has the softest puppy fur. He may be part rabbit.

While Champ has the extra-cute factor going on, please remember that he IS a young puppy and need lots of positive guidance and patience. They chew, pee, poop, chew some more, poop some more (probably in your favorite shoes) and challenge you at every turn. Puppies bring lots of love and smile to your life, but lots of frustration, too... Please be prepared to have your life turned up-side-down!!!

Our process for adopting puppies is a little different from adopting an adult dog: 1). Your application and home visit must be completed before final approval for adopting a puppy (including meeting the puppies). At the home visit we will check if your fence is secure, help you identify anything that may entice puppy curiousity/chewing, etc. 2). Your contract will include a special provision that you will agree to take your puppy to Puppy Obedience Training within 30 days of adoption. ART will reimburse your obedience training upon receipt of certificate from approved classes. IF YOU CAN NOT COMMIT TO THIS PROCESS, please do not apply for a puppy. There are NO exceptions. We do this to ensure our puppies STAY in their forever homes.
