Learn more about the Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Sweet little Hattie was found in a culvert with two leashes wrapped around her neck, tethered to a 3 pound weight. Luckily, someone heard her cries and asked if ART could take this little girl on.
She is a sweet puppy who is full of energy. She is learning her puppy manners from the big dogs she is fostered with and is learning to use the bathroom outside. Hattie is smart, confident and very snuggly!
While this kiddo has the extra-cute factor going on, please remember that she IS a young puppy and need lots of positive guidance and patience. They chew, pee, poop, chew some more, poop some more (probably in your favorite shoes) and challenge you at every turn. Puppies bring lots of love and smile to your life, but lots of frustration, too... Please be prepared to have your life turned up-side-down!!!
Our process for adopting puppies is a little different from adopting an adult dog: 1). Your application and home visit must be completed before final approval for adopting a puppy (including meeting the puppies). At the home visit we will check if your fence is secure, help you identify anything that may entice puppy curiousity/chewing, etc. 2). Every animal that is adopted from us is spayed/neutered before adoption. Since puppies are altered AFTER they are 12 weeks old, we allow our approved families to enter into a "Foster-to-Adopt" contract for their puppy, if the puppy is younger than 12 weeks. This allows us to place the puppy in your home earlier so you can begin the important bonding process, however, we maintain ownership and financial responsibility until they are spayed/neutered (usually 12 weeks old, but up to the discretion of our veterinarian). In some cases, this will require you to bring your puppy to our veterinarian in North Dallas for the spay/neuter surgery (or any other medical need). 3). Your contract will include a special provision that you will agree to take your puppy to Puppy Obedience Training within 30 days of adoption. ART will reimburse your obedience training upon receipt of certificate from approved classes. IF YOU CAN NOT COMMIT TO THIS PROCESS, please do not apply for a puppy. There are NO exceptions. We do this to ensure our puppies STAY in their forever homes.
