UPDATE:  1/14/10  We have several applications pending for Georgie, so we will not be accepting any more applications... Thank you for your interest in saving a rescue dog!!!!

Georgie is a precious little boy puppy with lots of love to give!  He is approximately 10 weeks old and weighs about 4.5 pounds.  Right now he is in a foster home with his puppy sister Gigi and they are learning proper dog behavior from their foster brother and sister dogs.  Georgie has lots of playful energy and loves to chase toys that you toss for him.  He also has a very mellow side and is so happy just to lay on your lap and chew on a toy.  He is learning to use peepee pads and learning to love his crate as a relaxing, safe place where he sometimes receives treats. He is too small to be in a family with young children that don't yet understand being gentle with puppies, as he is often underfoot.   Georgie has super soft hair and stands like a little show dog while he is gently combed each day.  His foster mom thinks he truly enjoys it so she tells him how handsome he is while she combs him! Realize that this little guy will need grooming for the rest of his life.... Georgie wants someone to give him plenty of affection.  In return, he gives you the look of love in his dear, sweet eyes.  

Our process for adopting puppies is a little different from adopting an adult dog:
1. Your application and home visit must be completed before final approval for adopting a puppy (including meeting the puppies). At the home visit we will check if your fence is secure, help you identify anything that may entice puppy curiousity/chewing, etc.
2. Every animal that is adopted from us is spayed/neutered before adoption. Since these puppies will be altered AFTER they are 12 weeks old, we allow our approved families to enter into a "Foster-to-Adopt" contract for their puppy. This allows us to place the puppy in your home at 9-10 weeks old so you can being the important bonding process, however, we maintain ownership and financial responsibility until they are spayed/neutered (usually 12 weeks old, but up to the discretion of our veterinarian). This will require you to bring your puppy to our veterninarian in North Dallas for the spay/neuter surgery (or any other medical need).
4. Your contract will include a special provision that you will agree to take your puppy to Puppy Obedience Training within 30 days of adoption.

IF YOU CAN NOT COMMIT TO THIS PROCESS, please do not apply for one of these puppies. There are NO exceptions. We do this to ensure our puppies STAY in their forever homes.
