Learn more about the Old English Sheepdog. Vincent is a dogs dog who has a soft spot for his people. This six month old pup is affectionate, playful, happy-go-lucky and fits in easily to any situation. Every morning when Vincent is let out of his crate, he makes sure to stop and give his foster mom and dad some wags and friendly licks before romping out into the backyard. Sometimes if his foster people are npt fast enough, Vincent squeals until he has their attention! He loves wrestling, playing chase and tug-of-war with the three younger dogs in the household but respectfully gives the elderly dogs in the household plenty of space. He is fascinated by the resident cat, but has learned that the cat does not really care for enthusiastic puppies. Vincent is one of The Shopping Bag Six,– a group of pups who were thrown into a shopping bag by a young boy in early July. An Animal Rescue of Texas volunteer crossed paths with the boy who was trying to sell the overheated, underfed pups. Luckily she was able to take them in and get them to safety where ART could get them healthy and work to find them homes. He loves to eat (it is probably best to feed him in his crate so he does not try to hog another dogs food) and is housetrained and crate trained. He is current on all of his shots and is neutered. It is pretty easy to calm him down with a tummy rub and some soothing words. All of our animals come fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped. Our adoption fee is $150 for dogs, $85 for cats and $85 for senior pets. Our process for adopting puppies is a little different from adopting an adult dog: 1). Your application and home visit must be completed before final approval for adopting a puppy (including meeting the puppies). At the home visit we will check if your fence is secure, help you identify anything that may entice puppy curiosity/chewing, etc. 2). Your contract will include a special provision that you will agree to take your puppy to Puppy Obedience Training within 30 days of adoption. IF YOU CAN NOT COMMIT TO THIS PROCESS, please do not apply for a puppy. There are NO exceptions. We do this to ensure our puppies STAY in their forever homes.
