Border Collie / American Staffordshire Terrier / Mixed : : Male : : Baby
Learn more about the Border Collie. Turtle is one of the puppies known as "The Shopping Bag Six". Six pups, thrown into a shopping bag on a sweltering summer's night by a kid who had a price on our heads ($10 each). We were hot, sick and panting...darn near dog-gone dead when we crossed paths with an ART volunteer. She took us in, took us to the vet and we're getting fat and happy in our foster homes but we need permanent places to put up our paws. We're cute, happy-go-lucky and just trying to catch a break.
Turtle gets his name by rolling over on his back and showing you his big round belly. He is a very sweet, cuddly pup who is ready for his new family.
Our process for adopting puppies is a little different from adopting an adult dog: 1). Your application and home visit must be completed before final approval for adopting a puppy (including meeting the puppies). At the home visit we will check if your fence is secure, help you identify anything that may entice puppy curiosity/chewing, etc. 2). Your contract will include a special provision that you will agree to take your puppy to Puppy Obedience Training within 30 days of adoption. IF YOU CAN NOT COMMIT TO THIS PROCESS, please do not apply for a puppy. There are NO exceptions. We do this to ensure our puppies STAY in their forever homes.
