Nelson, named for the late, great Byron Nelson, “Nelly” for short is a Chesapeake Bay Retriever/Lab Mix and he is just awesome.  He is about 85 pounds and was heartworm positive but we are done with all of the treatment and he is ready to be adopted!  His coat is now a dark rich brown that is “new” because of his good nutrition and care he is getting.  He has a ton of energy, like a puppy, so if you need a buddy to run with he would be great!  He loves other dogs.  He gets along great with his 3 foster sisters but not a big fan of his feline foster sisters so he would do best in a house without those cute things!  He sleeps in his kennel and he is house trained.  Nelson loves to give kisses and given a lot of attention but settles down well by playing with his favorite Kongs.  He knows how to sit, fetch, stay and he loves to jump up on you, which we are trying to break him of.  I think he would do best in a home without small children due to the fact that he is so big and may knock them over by accident.  He does really well on a leash.   When you look into those hazel, golden eyes you will not be able to resist taking him home.
